Welcome.
Welcome to Elite Dance School.
Welcome to Elite, a South London based Dance and Drama School with brances in Streatham and Sutton.
Elite School of Dance and Drama was set up in 1996 and has gained reputation as one of the leading dance schools in South London. Elite has been established for 15 years and offers classes in Street Dance, Freestyle, Ballroom, Latin American, Zumba, Drama and Singing. All of our teachers are highly qualified, professional, friendly and enthusiastic about the school and our students. We hold regular exams sessions for our pupils and produce two full scale productions each year which give our students the opportunity to perform in front of a large audience.
Elite has 2 branches covering Streatham and Sutton and all our teachers are fully qualified with the IDTA (International Dance Teachers Association) and have full CRB checked.
Elite School of Dance and Drama is owned and operated by Caroline Howard. Caroline learnt to dance at a very early age at her parents' dance school where she trained as a Ballroom, Latin American, Rock'n'Roll and Freestyle dancer. Caroline was a successful competitor as a child and went on to start teaching dance at the age of 16.
As a teacher and dancer Caroline has qualified to the highest standard in Ballroom, Latin American, Modern Jazz and Freestyle, obtaining Honours in all of her professional examinations with the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA).
Over the years Caroline has choreographed for many performances and competitions, winning Street Dance championships at a National level and producing some of our country's best competitors. She has a wealth of experience in teaching children and adults of all ages, heading up dance programmes for local authority community projects as well as teaching in private dance schools and in choreographing for gymnastics display teams and training professionals.
Caroline has a passion for all things to do with Dance and loves to teach and inspire new talent.
Caroline's love of Dance comes from her parents, who were both professional dancers in their own right. Her father, Guy Howard, is the author of 'The Technique of Ballroom Dancing' which was published by the IDTA in 1976 and is used world-wide for professional examinations. Guy was inducted into America's Dancing Hall of Fame in 1978 in recognition of his outstanding work and devotion to the dancing profession.
Caroline is following in his footsteps and is passionate about Dance, whether it be teaching, learning, or performing, and enjoys teaching any age group from the absolute beginner to the keen competitor. She finds great satisfaction in developing the art of Dance, whether for fun and enjoyment, socially or competitively, and whilst developing her career as a teacher and chorographer she continues to study and learn new forms of dance so that her knowledge can be passed on to her students.
