Disco / Freestyle

Disco/Freestyle dance originates from Saturday Night Fever and the 1970's where the traditions of ballet and jazz were juxtaposed and modern trends are introduced.

Freestyle dance is performed to chart/pop music.

Freestyle dance consists of leaps, jumps, spins, turns and travelling movements.

It encourages:

  • Individual personalities to develop through the expression
  • Confidence and self-esteem
  • increases fitness, flexibility, stamina & flexibility

At Elite we train dancers for IDTA examinations and ADFP competitions, where they are entered in solos, pairs and group events. These are of course optional and we have many students who attend classes purely for fun and fitness.
